Cyborg Dreams
If you were a cyborg, what would you dream about? With the concept ‘cyborg’, we refer to Donna Haraway’s concept rather a lexical definition.

Postcolonial ICT
During the WSIS (World Summit on Information Society) process the Africa continent positioned itself as a strong driving force for contextualized and innovative ICT development in a vast number of vital societal areas. The open source issues were and are of paramount interest. In our time no expert borders exist between poor or rich countries or between different cultures. The innovative potentials find ways in local experiences and in the space of no longer and not yet. Any contribution to these discussions are relevant for IJFT as well as any other consideration linked to the integrated theme of ICT and postcolonial situations.

Technoscientific Politics
If our aims are to produce knowledge and technology encountering the need of society and being robust enough for sustainable purposes, then we have to be serious about how we understand our knowledge producing systems. Socially robust knowledge can only be produced in a mixed environment. The knowledge will then be exposed to more intensive testing in various contexts. It will not be pre-determined but open to re-negotiations. In addition the site of problem identification moves from the academy to the agora, where science meets society and politics and contextualisation occurs. We are facing processes of non-linear character. This is far from our traditional perceptions of sequential processes in first knowledge making in basic research followed by applied research or dissemination to exploitation of the knowledge in products for a private or public market. Do these reflections inspire you to deliver a text to IJFT? Hope so, welcome!

Hi all, just came from the Transdisciplinary theories and practices course at BTH and great idea to set up this journal. I’m currently working on some ideas on the topic of postcoloniality and ICT, when it’s in a submittable state I’ll send it in!

    Kind regards!
